Join in for a 3-part series to build compassion and resilience in clinical practice and daily life. Part 1 (July 26) will detail foundations of mindfulness and the power of training our attention. Part 2 (August 2) includes building the pillars of compassion and presence in daily life. Part 3 (August 9) weaves these topics together to support compassion-based resilience in our work as emerging social workers. Each session will include a presentation on the science, wisdom, and practices to support embodiment of each contemplative topic.

A bit about Alexa as a practitioner:

An inspired student of Tibetan Buddhism and yogic sciences, Alexa has been studying and teaching contemplative practices since 2010. She is currently on meditation faculty at Nalanda Institute for Contemplative Science, as well as a graduate of their 3-year program in Contemplative Psychotherapy and teacher training in Compassion-Based Resilience Training (CBRT). She’s delivered workshops on wellness and contemplative science at libraries, high schools, and universities; created mindfulness training content for values-driven organizations; and worked one-on-one with individuals to support them in cultivating contemplative personal practices. She currently studies in the Yuthok Nyingthig tradition of Tibetan Buddhism (the main spiritual lineage of traditional Tibetan Medicine doctors). Alexa is passionate about supporting people in fully embodying their lives through self-awareness, compassion, and flourishing in their intra- and interpersonal relationships.
